Earlier this summer (when I had great hopes of many, many sunny days) and we had a couple of sizzlers that made swimming a most enticing possibility, I dared to check my swimwear for suitability. It’s true to say that the slightly baggy and certainly not figure-enhancing black and white costume I faced was doing me no favours. It had served well but frankly now didn’t give the support, disguise or uplifting joyous look I was aiming for. So I scoured the internet for something better. I knew what I was looking for …
something certainly supportive in all the right places; something perhaps (no definitely) with a little skirt to hide the problematic area at the top inside of my thighs that looks like crepe after a substantial weight-loss; and dare I say, something with a bit of zing and whoar! about it. And my efforts failed pretty miserably. I found the usual offerings in the high street and mail-order sites but either just too flimsy, not made well, not in a great range of sizes, and so uninspiring. So my ‘trusted’ black and white ensemble still made its twice weekly show at my local pool.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and the promise of a day or two of rocketing temperatures (like the Indian type summer days we’re experiencing now in the southern part of the UK) and I tried again. This time I have hit the jackpot because I have discovered an amazing website that answers all my swimwear prayers and perhaps yours too.
Swimdress Boutique http://www.swimdressboutique.com is the site where I have found my latest pool collection – 3 swimsuits that flatter, hold-in and bring the fun back into my swimming regime. And I know they look good because on a first outing yesterday (31 degrees in London) I was asked not once but three times where I had purchased my siren-red swimsuit!
I have opted to buy a couple of skirted swimdress options but this site also supplies all-in-ones, tankinis, high-waisted briefs, swim shorts and other swimwear in UK sizes 14-26 – all with the promise to flatter your figure and give you confidence both in and out of the water. And whether you’re curvy or not they have flattering swimwear that will help to make you feel and look fabulous. All have been cut with the fuller figure in mind and have been expertly made with great fabrics and in many cases hidden support. Indeed I would go as far as to say that my swimdress knocks a size off my figure and I didn’t have to struggle and ricochet off the changing cubicle walls to get into it!
Prices are very affordable and at the moment there are some great sale bargains to be had as well as some ‘new season’ arrivals to tempt. All can be shipped worldwide in extra speedy time – my suits were shipped on the same day of order.
But don’t just take my word for this, head over to Swimdress Boutique and see for yourself or check them out on their Facebook page too. I’m off for a swim ….

Their stuff looks gorgeous, but I’m down to a size 12 (10st 7 lb), from a size 44/46 (28st 7lb), so need a swimsuit that covers down to my knees and has long or at least 3/4 sleeves. The only thing I’ve found resembles a shorter wetsuit – not a good look.

They do look gorgeous don’t they? I am down to a 14 and their small size fits me perfectly and snugly. I haven’t seen anything to date that suits your requirements but I’ll keep a look out. Well done with the terrific weight-loss though! C x

Kristie it does and quite a welcome departure for me! I felt brave going for such a vibrant colour but have discovered that it suits me more than I ever would have imagined. Pays to be brave… Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. Carol x
