Being slim ‘makes a woman happier than any man could’

October 5, 2010 4 Comments

According to a 24 year study (why did it take so long?), a woman should forget about finding the right man because what will really make her happy is being the right size. According to the German research, a woman’s weight has a greater effect on her spirits than her love life does. Experts have therefore concluded that the stigma surrounding being overweight or obese has become so great that it can affect almost every aspect of life.

I think I could have concluded this in a fraction of the time, but what I would really like to know…is it the same for men?

Will we have to wait another 24 years to find out?  While you’re waiting, try this super simple chicken and sweet potato dish, beautifully bariatric friendly, and which can be on the table in under 40 minutes!

lemon chicken parcels

LEMON CHICKEN PARCELS WITH SWEET POTATO

Ingredients

4 skinless and boneless chicken fillets

2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into 2.5 cm cubes

juice of 1/2 lemon

1 lemon, cut into 8 slices

4 cloves garlic

1/2 x 15g pack fresh rosemary, chopped

salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

1.  Preheat the oven to 200 C/gas mark 6. Cut 4 pieces of baking parchment about 4 times the size of each chicken breast, and fold each piece in half.

2.  Place a chicken breast in the middle of each sheet. Divide the sweet potato and the lemon juice equally between the parcels. Add 2 lemon slices and a slightly crushed garlic clove to each, sprinkle with the rosemary and season with salt and pepper to taste. Fold over the parchment to make a parcel, tucking the edges under to ensure no steam escapes during cooking.

3.  Place on a baking sheet and cook for 30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the chicken is cooked through. Serve with a green vegeable if liked.

Oddly enough, I think its the same for guys, unfortunately unless they have lived the fat life you probably don’t realise just how depressing, hard and difficult life can be…

Obese peoples lives spoil with every extra pound, without realising life deteriorates as we compensate until we have virtually no life at all…

So the answer to it all is to becomme healthy by whatever means possible, only then will you realise just how marvellous life can be… or should be.

Fast approaching 50 I an living the life of someone half my age and loving it..
One year after having GBS. I feel I have been reborn.

Hi Buzz, how right you are! Sometimes we think that guys don’t get depressed about their weight and that it is just for women to worry about, but I know quite a few men who feel sad, unhappy and yes even clinically depressed with their obesity. The difference when their weight is then under control is astonishing…I have one friend who can now outshop me for clothes, another who is never in the house at the weekend because he has such an amazing social life and yet another, who is approaching 50, who is an inspiration to everyone (recognise him?).

Out shop YOU Carol..lol I very much doubt that 🙂
The stamina after surgery is amazing, what slowed us down to a virtual stop gets knocked for six.
Curing or putting into remision the obsese conditions give you a new lease of life. Weight Losss Surgery does so much more than makes you loose weight… but then only those who have walked in our shoes understand that…

    Humbled by the whole experience..
How else you you describe life changing and life saving surgery…

Men get emotional, men get embarressed about their size and shape, its no different, just less is expected of us, the male perspective of it all is no where near as bad for men, its more acceptable? God knows why….

    Buzz.

PS love what your doing here Carol, you are one VERY VERY special lady.
Thank you for your hard work and efforts.
