‘Lite Bite’ Bariatric Portion Control Cutlery Set

‘Eat Right With Every Bariatric Bite’

Portion control, along with good nutritional food choice, is the key to weight loss, maintenance and lowering the risk of weight regain after bariatric surgery. Canny WLS patients weigh, measure and look at the proportions of nutrients they put on their plates, forks and into their mouths at every opportunity.

At Bariatric Cookery we have made this task as easy as possible with our Bariatric Portion Plate and Bariatric Portion, Cook and Serve Measuring Cups … now we can bring you another new 1st!

This week we launch our Bariatric Portion Control Cutlery Set.

.

This is a beautifully designed, contemporary, reduced-sized, premium-quality, stainless steel 18/10, 3-piece cutlery set, designed to slow down and control bariatric post-op eating.

The set includes a serrated knife, 4 pronged fork and dessertspoon that has been carefully calibrated for good balance in your hands. The serrated knife will easily cut even the toughest meat, fruit or vegetables.

Not a children’s cutlery set, but a stylish reduced-sized adult place setting, it has been developed to encourage mindful controlled eating by promoting the eating of smaller mouthfuls at mealtimes.

cutlery-alone-without-packaging

Why not just use kiddie cutlery? Children’s cutlery is often clunky, over-sized and decorated with child-like motifs and more often than not the fork area is only slightly smaller than a regular fork – so you won’t eat less. Just like our plate this set is stylish and discreet and won’t look out of place at any dinner table or workplace eating area.

The slower eating approach and smaller portion ‘bites’ of food, offers control and management of a bariatric meal. It’s recommended by bariatric professionals and has been tried and tested on WLS patients as the best post-surgery eating regime, following the 20:20:20 approach.

It promotes the ‘eat right with every bariatric bite’ philosophy that all weight-loss/bariatric surgery patients are encouraged to follow pre-surgery but especially post-op for successful weight-loss and maintenance.

The set will help all WLS patients regardless of the procedure they have had (band, bypass, sleeve or revision) since the fork and spoon holds about 50% less than conventional implements. It can also be useful as a training aid to those pre-op about what to expect post-surgery.

Give them a try – it’s like having a meal support team at your fingertips!

The size of the fork prongs and spoon bowl are wonderful, it’s a shame that the handles are child-sized instead of normal adult-sized.

I guess it depends on the size of your hands as to whether they are more child-sized for you. We found them adequate and meant we had to concentrate on using them (a bit like using chopsticks) which also enabled us to slow down our eating but we will pass on your comments to the producer. Thanks for the feedback. C x

I bought the plate and cutlery and really like the quality and design, but I agree with others here that the handles should be adult size. Quite tricky to hold.
