Pull Up A Chair …

December 23, 2016 Leave a Comment

I’m reliably told that there are queues outside (never mind inside) most of the major stores and supermarkets this morning. The festive feeding frenzy starts …

Time therefore I think for you and me to sit back and mull this over. I shall, like everyone else, enjoy and indulge during the 2 day holiday and then it stops. Yes right there before it becomes a slowly creeping habit of treats, sweets and slothfulness (I know myself too well!).

Today I shall take some time out to plan my food intake and spread the treats; work out how to use the leftovers (because there will be plenty); and venture into thinking about what I want to do different this year from last so that I don’t reach the year end with a few extra pounds (or even kgs) on board. I shall also be looking at what I need to do for Christmas Eve and how to pretty up what I have made and purchased (more on that tomorrow).

You’re welcome to join me – pull up a chair – I shall be making a mug of hot chocolate to enjoy during this time …

There’s nothing more comforting than a steaming mug of hot chocolate on a wintry day. I avoid the calorific powdery stuff with refined sugar by using a low-sugar chocolate ‘syrup’ like Choc Shot.  They now have Orange Spice or Coconut flavours too to ring the changes. The sweetness comes from fruit syrup (pure natural fruit extract), it’s dairy free and only 14 calories per teaspoon!

Simply swirl into a mug of hot almond or other milk, and stir with a cinnamon stick for an extra hint of Christmas and RELAX!
