NEW! Leading WLS Group Launch Pre-Surgery Consultation App

Leading UK Weight Loss Surgery Group Launch Pioneering Pre-Surgery Consultation Application

MobilePhoneApps(1)

Leading UK bariatric surgery specialist, Phoenix Health, has officially launched the world’s first interactive, online personal weight loss surgery consultation application. Designed to demist the subject area of weight loss surgery, this is a truly innovative step forward for the company, the industry as a whole, and those contemplating weight loss surgery.

Weight loss surgery is a daunting and life changing procedure that requires much thought, preparation and a prolonged period of aftercare. The application is designed to help prospective patients get all the answers they require in one place, within the comfort of their own space and avoiding the need to spend hours trawling the internet only to receive conflicting and potentially dangerous advice.

The application is currently accessed via http://121.phoenix-health.co.uk and has been designed to be used on multiple device platforms including mobile, tablets and desktop. For launch there are 55 recorded answers to the most commonly asked questions, all hosted by Professor David Kerrigan, Phoenix Health’s Lead Surgeon.

Users simply type in their question and select the answer they want from the list provided. Alternatively, users can select the question they want answered from a list of FAQ’s to access the answer. In the unlikely scenario that the user can’t find the answer to their question, they can even send a direct email to a Phoenix Health specialist within the app itself and get a response back within 24 hours.

It could be said that there has never before been such a repertoire of informative videos on the subject collected in a single, accessible and interactive environment. This really could be the future of medical information distribution.

It’s something I have also been considering for food advice to cover both pre and post-op surgery eating/regimes. What do you think?

I have tried out the app Zaneta and it is very, very good. Anything not covered can also be addressed to the team at Phoenix Health. I’m now going to put a food/recipe and advice app to the top of my agenda for a 2014 bariatric cookery project. May need to get some sponsorship though! C x
