One of the most useful pieces of advice I was given after weight loss surgery was not to buy too many new clothes and certainly if I did need some essentials then not to spend too much money on them. Weight loss is often very rapid in the early days and what fits one week often doesn’t fit just a couple of weeks later. So, should you buy for the size you are, or the size you want to be?
Now, the folks behind the George clothing line at Asda in the UK, claim to have come up with a solution. They are introducing jeans designed to shrink as you slim down.
The supermarket chain’s Wonderfit jeans are made from ultra-stretchy elastane, a similar fabric to that used in control underwear. In theory this means they can span 3 dress sizes….so a small should fit a woman who is size 8, 10 or 12; while the medium can be worn by a size 14, 16 or 18; and large should fit dress sizes 20, 22 and 24.
The jeans, launched yesterday in stores and online, cost just £18 and are available in blue and black.
Of course there could be a downside to these jeans…. many of us rely upon the fit of our clothes to tell us if we gain as well as lose weight…so remember to weigh yourself regularly for an accurate check on progress.
