The last few days at Bariatric Cookery have been somewhat quiet since we have had no internet service. Thankfully all fixed now but it was more than overwhelming to discover this morning just how many inbox messages I got with quick-fix promises for 2015. Maybe it was seeing them altogether (over 150 of them) that tipped the balance – but I couldn’t help but be bemused with such an avalanche of ‘miracle-diets’, detoxes, cranky regimes and crazy offers for body beautiful in 2015!
It’s a long time since I’ve been on a diet – I now say I have a diet but I’m not on one and if I have one wish for you all this New Year it’s that you ignore all these fads and frankly unsustainable (even if beguiling) solutions to your weight and health problems. Please don’t be seduced by them and instead opt for a sensible and healthy approach to your weight-loss or maintenance efforts that is derived from sticking with the basics that we all know work.
As a good friend of mine said ‘Nourish your body through weight-loss and maintenance, don’t starve it!’
So the team and myself pledge to continue to advise and help all those considering bariatric-surgery through our website; support and bring news to those who have had it and want to live their lives well via food features, recipes, fashion extras and exercise regimes – again on-line but also through our free newsletter; and bring the professionals, who are at the cutting edge of such operations, together with their patients through blogs, seminars and profile-raising activities. Some of the link features below make a great starting to explore our site.
We would like to thank each and everyone of our followers for their reciprocal support in 2014.
Here’s wishing you all a very Happy New Year and hoping that you finish 2015 in great shape!
