Happy New Year 2020!

January 1, 2020 Leave a Comment

I hope this morning you have risen with enthusiasm for the new decade ahead and are raring to go to put into practise all good intentions.

You could be forgiven however if you feel a tad confused, bewildered and basically swamped with all that information out there on bariatric surgery, the WLS regime and health in general. Dr Google doesn’t help too much … indeed can add to the confusion.

I wrote a quick feature on this last week which went out to subscribers about such analysis paralysis at this time of year and if you wish to read it then click the link below. It will also take you to the ‘back to basics’ list that I recommend rather than some crazy diet you may have been considering because believe me I know they don’t work and the more you restrict, the more you crave, so long term they’re a disaster. Inclusion of foods trumps exclusion every time – don’t restrict your diet so that it becomes impossible to follow.

There is no ‘correct’ way to eat for optimum health and we shouldn’t be labelling foods ‘good’ or ‘bad’. We are also beautifully unique and so what works for one won’t work in quite the same way for another – that includes what works best for us nutritionally.

ONE LAST THING …

If there is one last piece of advice I wish I had added to that feature it is that you should never compromise on your values and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. If you’re passionate about a new healthier way of life pre- and post-op and put in the hard work, you can achieve success on so many levels. My mantra this year is to LIGHTEN my load but I also aim to eat myself healthy along the way too.

Join me for more information here (scroll back through the website blogs there’s so much information in the archives), sign up for the newsletter here if you haven’t already done so (the next comes out shortly in January), and drop me a line or make a comment if there is anything you would like to see or require more information about (I may not know the answers but probably know the person who does).

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL AND THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
