There’s always huge excitement here when a new newsletter goes out to all our subscribers – and this one is no exception. Indeed it’s a bit of a favourite. Why? Well because it reinforces what I often try to get across at support groups, on forums, on the website, in my books and more … that the WLS regime needn’t be too vexing nor too ‘hard’ if you employ one or two healthy-short cuts and hacks. We work on these all the time, not just to pass on the wise words, but also to make life a little easier for ourselves. We know what it is like to have too little time to cook from scratch on occasions; that life throws up all sorts of complications that get in the way of all good intentions; that money runs out at the end of the week or month and the store cupboard and freezer need to deliver; and that it’s so easy to fall off the wagon if you don’t have some plans up your sleeve.
This issue addresses some of these dilemmas and delivers 8 recipes that are speedy, use convenient (rather than convenience) foods, can be eaten by the whole family, are bariatric-friendly, and … dare I risk saying it … might stall any off-road choices. There’s something for every meal occasion and they are seasonal too.
Our guest dietitian, Nichola, also gives her top 10 tips for these scenarios too and they are worth reading and making note of – she has stretched my shopping list with some great hacks.
