Bariatric Weighty Issues

January 4, 2011 Leave a Comment

Tomorrow night, Channel 4 at 9.35 pm, shows that there is no dignity for the super-obese!

Paul Mason, estimated to weigh 70 stone, will be the focus of tabloid scutiny, logistical nightmare and extreme NHS medical measures. For Paul is considered for a Chinook helicopter lift out of his home…but will the floor be able to take his weight? He’s been bedridden for the past 10 years, and his care package costs social services over £100,000 year.

This is a documentary that looks at Britain’s most desperate case of over-eating and slimming despair, as well as the nation’s rising tide of obesity.

WARNING: this may not prove to be the most positive of wls viewing and will doubtless be controversial but nonetheless a viewing MUST.

The surgery is performed by my own surgeon, Shaw Somers, whose empathy is immeasurable!
