Sales of my Bariatric Portion Plate have been brisk and reviews have been very positive. The advice given with the plate helps with portion control but in case you’re stuck for some further ideas we have started a gallery of images showing typical meals loaded onto the plate. We’ll add these as taken in the Bariatric Cookery Test Kitchen but if you have any you would like to share then please send to carol@bariatriccookery.com or leave a comment below so that we may contact you:
It should be noted that these portions and the foods chosen represent a patient that is at least 6 months post-op (in most cases) since before that time patients are generally going through the early stages of fluid and soft food. All patients will differ according to their surgery type, stage out after surgery, and tolerances (plus likes and dislikes will come into play). The amount you can eat is quite likely to differ from the portion loads on these plates so they are given as a guideline only.

My husband is about 70 pounds overweight and bariatric surgery has been ruled out because of his age.
I would love to have menus for each meal of the day so that we together can accomplish his need to
lose weight. He is diabetic and has copd and asbestosis.

What a pity that he hasn’t been able to have surgery – you can and sound like you will however help him with this food choices. Many of the recipes on my website are high in protein, low in fat and low in sugar which will also help but they are geared to WLS patients (but their families too). Check them out and see if there are any you like the look of. I would also encourage you to look at diabetic uk website too since they have many menu plans, recipes and information that will prove invaluable plus some downloadable weekly plans and regimes you could have a go at following.
