A very special Happy Father’s Day to my own Pa; my husband (father of our own two children Lucy and Charlie) and to all those bariatric Dad’s and supporters out there! I am posting this blog early just in case you want to get out there and shop for a foodie treat or two.
What can they celebrate with today? Well there’s lots on offer for the bariatric and non-bariatric Dad on the website. If you’re looking for something traditional then why not look at the recipes for Old-Fashioned Beef Stew with Optional Dumplings; Fived-Spiced Pork Roast with Root Vegetables; or Chicken with Oat, Sage and Apricot Stuffing.
If a takeaway favourite is requested, why not cook something more nutritious at home like Chow Mein; Stir-Fried Pork with Chinese Vegetables; Pork Koftas with Jewelled Couscous; or Green Thai Turkey Curry Stir Fry.
Or fire up the bbq and treat Dad with Lamb and Beetroot Burgers; Barbecued Alaska Salmon with Wild Rice Salad; Hot Horseradish Beef Burgers with Salsa….and a side dish of Bariatric Barbecue Sauce and Roast Swede Chips?
And to round-off the meal, start the day or bring a smile to any father’s face, Carrot and Raisin Muffins; Apple and Nectarine Crumble; or Chocolate Truffles.
At Bariatric Cookery the request has been for a comforting plate of Turkey Bolognese and Chocolate Brownies…sorted!
All recipes can be found on the website or in the ‘Return to Slender’ cookery books, just type the recipe title into the search bar on the home page.
Hope your Father’s Day is a wonderful one!
